Encodinglock is a firefox extension which helps you to fix the wrong encoded websites.

Do you have the experience when you browse to a wrong encoded website, such as a Chinese or Indian site, you have to change your firefox browser setting with "Edit=>Character Encoding=>Chinese Simplified(GB2312)" again and again during your browsing? EncodingLock can help you out. With this extension, you can choose the encoding of website to your preference.

It's early stages for this project, and there's only dev build version available now.

Known issues:

  1. When a matched web page is loaded at the first time, it can not be properly reencoded to configuration, you have to reload the page in the browser tab.

Note: If you want to add an area for user feedback to any of your pages, take a look at the notes.html template.

The encodinglock project can be contacted through the mailing list or the member list.
